TAMPA, Florida, July 13, 2008 (AFP) - Canada´s Vincent Lecavalier signed an 11-year contract extension with the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday, keeping him with the team through the 2019-20 National Hockey League season.

Terms were not disclosed, but TSN of Canada reported that the contract extension is worth 85 million dollars.

According to the report, the 28-year-old Lecavalier will make 10 million dollars per season over the first six years under the terms of the new deal, which goes into effect in 2009-10.
